Kea is a game engine / framework that abstracts away the hardware it runs on. Currently it compiles to all three desktop OS's, Android & iOS and even the Nintendo switch (although, thats unofficial and very often broken :stuck\_out\_tongue:). Hopefully, if I some day actually manage to get off my ass and make a proper game with this, the platforms list will also include the Xbox One and PS4. We will see

Developing with Kea is a lot more barebones compared to, for example, Unity. Kea is not meant to be very high level, but rather forces you to build most things yourself. For example, Kea does not have any concept of game objects or an ECS, you give it some sprites, their transforms and some audio data. There are (_read: will_) be a companion library that provides a higher level of abstraction, but thats in the future.
